All is Full of Love

What gives us reason to hope? When all seems lost in the world is cold and our souls are hungry.
Christ has the answer. He once told it to a woman in Samaria.. in John 4:13 Jesus said unto her, "Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again."
How can this be? It seems every morning I wake up thirsty. Jesus was speaking of something much more than our need for physical water. This is spiritual water, for our souls.. the kind we can't live truely happily without.
This living water can at times seem impossible to find. We're wandering in a world that promises everything if you just have the money.. Sadly the love we need can't be purchased with anything from the world.
This topic reminds me of a song by one of my favorite bands- Death Cab- (love Ben Gibbard)

"All Is Full Of Love"
You'll be given love
You'll be taken care of
You'll be given love
You have to trust it,

Maybe not from the sources
you have poured yours
maybe not from the directions
you are staring at,

Twist your head around
it's all around you
all is full of love
all around you,

All is full of love
you just aint receiving
all is full of love
your phone is off the hook
all is full of love
your doors are all shut
all is full of love!
We have to have Faith in Jesus Christ. If you've been looking in other directions for fullfillment, don't get discouraged. It's never to late to Call God also known as praying. We can drink of the water that never dies.. no matter our circumstances, illiterate or intelligent, homely or Rich.. The gospel of Jesus Christ is the answer. You come from a Kingdom.

Of Sparkly Converse and Answered Prayers.

So a while back I was having a few hard weeks. Like super hard. I was getting kinda bitter in my prayers.. Like "really God, this too, do you even know me"? I know dramatic right? Well sometimes things are just rough and it's hard for us to see that God really is there and that he cares.
One night I had a dream.. a dream that I got these brand new lovely sparkly converse.. Well in real life I had never seen them, so I didn't think they existed. I woke up thinking.. dang those were so cute. I want those shoes! Too bad it was a dream.
Not even a couple days later.. we're looking around in TJ-max and guess what I see? Sparkly Converse! On SALE! Literally less than half the price you normally buy a pair of converse for and in my size! . .Coincidence? I think not.  I instatnly recognized that God was telling me.. Hey Sister Davidson. I know you. I know these were something you would like.. so I put them in your path. I think God puts little things like this in our lives to help us realize that He does know us.
Sparkly Converse are a silly little thing. Not a neccesity.. but something I would love.. So God let me have them. I love God. He really is there.. He always answers prayers.. this time He answered mine with a pair of Converse. It's not about the shoes.. it's about the fact that God knows everything we're going through.
Im reminded Of Christ when he said
Jesus said:
“Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
“Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
“If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?” (Matthew 7:9–11).

Today

Today I realized God has a plan for me
Today I was grateful
Today I looked out at the big sky country and thanked the Lord for leading me here
Today I shed a tear for the last beautiful year I've spent in cowboy towns
Today I smiled at my personal growth
Today my heart sank realizing I go home in august
Today the excitement turned to fear
Then I remembered..
DO NOT FEAR
I'll go where the Lord leads me,
Back to Hawaii and golden sands
But I'll never forget Montana
I'll never stop thanking God for this time
I'll always remember the people I've met
I'll always be their friend
I'll always be a missionary to them, even when my tag's on the shelf
Today I thanked God that to Montana I will always be "Sister Davidson"

Truth

why you so sad boy
smoking that stick
waiting for something
some one
some kick
I don't think you'll find it
there
I don't think so
do you?
what do you believe boy?
Is there anyone you trust?
The world is spinning with anger, envy, lust
what do you hold dear boy?
when parties end and your alone
the lights will fade
so where do you belong?

I want to show you what I've found boy
I want to share the truth
I want to show you God's love
that He's got a plan for YOU
will you listen?
will you take the time
to open your ears?
I flew this distance.. far from my home
to help you find the way
the way
to your real home
where you belong.

Why's there so much religion.. yet so little love

  I LOVE THESE LYRICS ....

Tell me how many people wish they were someone else
Someone that think the world wants them to be
Tell me how many babies will be born just to die
Leaving me with these questions
Asking why

Tell me how the trees whisper
How the birds learn to sing
And how does the rainbow stay the same
How the bees make their honey
How do they learn to sting
Can a broken heart get back to heal again

How do people get so busy they dont find time to love
What's the truth behind why people go to war
Why's there so many religions yet there's so little love
Will I ever get to know the truth some day

When the youth's gonna dare - where's the elder who really cares
Why do people believe things they know arent true
When you look into the mirror who do you see
Why do we have to grow to be wise
    Lyrics by Asa

There are answers to all these questions. We all are looking for something.. God has a plan. . that makes everything make more sense.  We aren't here on Earth by some random chance. We're here for a reason.. and we can REALLY be happy through our trials. Read about it here.

Ever been Offended??

We all struggle daily with people who can offend us.. maybe they don't mean what they say.. maybe they do? Either way we can get upset, sad, frustrated, and even angry to the point of tears. How can we overcome this? How can we stop allowing ourselves to be overcome with emotion every time we see or hear the "offenders" voice.. I mean it's their fault you feel this way.. right?
I was recently thinking about some people that have really hurt my feelings.. and how I've wanted to feel good about them and just couldn't. I found a talk that was given in 1995 by Perry Christensen.. He goes over "5 points to keep from having your feelings hurt"
the points are:
1. Build a Firm Foundation
2. Understand the Intent
3. Be Swift to Hear, Slow to Wrath
4. Don't  Seek Revenge
5. Seek Reconciliation
The talk is great read it here.

Can I tell you something I'm sick of?

People saying..
  • "Your wasting your time"
  • "You don't believe in Christ"
  • "Why don't you look into your religion, and educate yourself about it"
There's many other sayings I hear on a regular basis that I'm frankly just sick of.. but instead of being negative, bratty and sticking my tongue out at anyone who says these things..  I want to just tell the world (or the two people that read this blog) why I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day-Saints (or mormon) and why I'm out here in Montana doing missionary work.

  1.     I definitely believe in Jesus Christ. He is the whole reason I came on this mission. He is the center of my life. This church helps me to stay grounded in that belief and reminds me by activity, how important it is to become more like Christ.

   2.    I am here on a mission in Montana because I KNOW that the Book of Mormon is true. Yes I am educated. I have spent many hours in college "learning" according to this professor or that professors opinion on several subjects. Fact is I'm not a blind follower. I need to know the "why" in things. I would never just be a part of a religion just for the sake of following a tradition. I have read the Bible. I have read the Book of Mormon. I have found numerous evidences in the Bible that the Book of Mormon is valid.. but even so.. reading and researching isn't the only way you can know that something is true.  Practicing it is. I can learn all I want about Rembrant and how he drew so well.. but that would not make me a better artist. . I would have to pick up the pencils for myself.. do it on my own. Same thing with the gospel .. you have to start living the principles in the Bible and Book of Mormon to understand their importance.

So there it is. I am happier because I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I understand the purpose of my life more because of it and want to share that with everyone I meet. That's why I'm here in Montana.. it's the truth.. now I invite you to find out for yourself. Just read the Book, pray, ask God, HE WILL ANSWER.
